Günter Lanfer has been involved in dog sports for more than forty-five years. At the age of 60, he has been actively involved in dog training for over three-forths of his life. His home club in Germany is OG Coesfield. Günter currently serves as the club president and breed warden.
His kennel name is vom Lambertusbrunnen. Günter bred his first litter in 1961. Over the years, he has titled several different dogs from the beginning to SchH 3, FH and IP 3. He also participated in the German Regional championships. Most of his dogs have been V rated in conformation and Körklasse 1 in the Breed Surveys.
In February, 1975, he was awarded his judge license from the SV. Over the succeeding 32 years, Günter has judged more than 500 trials. These include Regional and National Championships in Germany. He also judged at numerous trials in the United States and in other European countries.
Günter's current dog, Fiko, is over eleven years old. He has titled Fiko as SchH 3 more than twenty times. At the Siegershau in Germany, Fiko has twice been rated, "V".
